Memorial Day Parade Information for Parents (2022)

The information below has previously been shared. We have been diligently preparing for the Memorial Day Parade in Dalton on Monday, May 30th. We have final rehearsals and lessons next week.  Students will need to take their instruments HOME on Friday May 27th so they have them available for the parade Monday.

The parade begins at the Methodist Church (near Cumberland Farms), continues up Main St. to the CRA. Then the ceremony takes place at the Main Street Cemetery which is where the morning event will conclude. You may want to take your child's instrument case with you and park near the end of the parade. (The Stationery Factory Parking Lot might be a good location.)

Here are the details again for the day..

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE-

6th, 7th and 8th grade band students

Monday- May 30, 2022 9am

As a Band Director, I am asked by the town to have a band participate in the Memorial Day Parade/Ceremony.  The band is made up of students from the CBRSD towns.  This year the 6th, 7th and 8th graders have been invited to play in the DALTON Parade. In a normal year, this would only be 7th and 8th grades. We are including 6th graders this year who are up for the challenge of learning parade music and marching. The total time commitment will be about 9:00am-10:45am. The rain plan is to hold the ceremony at Nessacus Middle School.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE Monday, May 30th, 9am show up time DALTON- Methodist Church Parking lot (corner of North St. and Main St.). Parade ends at the Cemetery on the corner of Park Ave and Main.  A ceremony takes place after the parade which the band plays at. Parade attire= black pants, white top and sneakers. MUSIC: STARS AND STRIPES for parade route. AMERICA and STAR SPANGLED BANNER at ceremony.

Please make an effort to support this event.  Again dress code is BLACK pants, WHITE shirt and SNEAKERS. Meeting place is Dalton Methodist church parking lot, 9am.

Thank you and hope to see you there. If there are known conflicts, please let me know asap otherwise we will plan on your child participating.
