Great Concert May 10th! Bravo!

BRAVO!

Congratulations to all the students who performed in the Music from Films Concert on May 10^th. The evening was a powerful one with many excellent musical and dance performances. This is what makes the job of a Band Director rewarding: When, finally, concert night arrives and students give 100% to perform their best for the assembled audience.

There has been nothing but positive feedback and I appreciate each and every one of you. A party will be thrown in your honor during next band rehearsal.

OUR WORK IS NOT DONE!

Our work is not done for the year, however.. Please realize that we will continue to rehearse in band and cover the concepts in the Essential Elements Book according to the 4^th Quarter Assignments Sheet. Also, Smartmusic Assignments are up and available for all students to do (early, if you can!)

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE for 7^th and 8^th GRADERS

7^th and 8^th Graders will combine as a group for the Memorial Day Parade in Dalton on Monday, May 30^th. We will be rehearsing parade music in the next two weeks. The parade itself will go from the Dalton Methodist Church (meet at 8:45am) and end at the Ashuelot cemetery (just past the CRA on the corner of Main and Park Ave.)

7^th GRADERS PLAY 8^th GRADE GRADUATION

8^th Grade Graduation is scheduled for Friday June 17^th, 10 am. 7^th Graders will play for this ceremony which lasts about one hour. We will be rehearsing music for this performance in the next few weeks.

6^th GRADERS PLAY FOR 5^th GRADE STEP UP DAY

6^th Grade Band students still have music in their folders which we haven’t performed yet this year. This music will become our program for 5^th Grade Step Up Day. It will take place during the day sometime in June. Guidance will let us know what day sometime within the next week or so.
